Drawing on
Yourself

VISITING ARTISTS WEEKEND WORKSHOP
at the Workshop Arts Centre
12 Jan - 13 Jan 2008
$200 - Two Days

A flexible course for participants with varied skill levels.
An exciting opportunity to work with
accomplished artist and tutor,
Andrew Antoniou
Inside all of us is a vast collection of memories and images, stored at a subconscious level, beyond our daily vision.  These deep pools of the mind are a source of unlimited creativity - a source we can tap and transform into imagery to inspire and guide our artistic endeavours.
Drawing on Yourself is a short course that introduces participants to a range of approaches for accessing this realm.  It is led by accomplished artist and tutor, Andrew Antoniou, and outlines a series of steps to help participants stimulate and connect with their imagination or ‘inner vision’.  The result is a series of large-scale charcoal drawings that map the development of the idea.  Music, poetry and other stimuli are used to enhance this process.

ANDREW ANTONIOU was educated in the UK at the Harrow College of Art, Winchester School of Art (BA Fine Art) and Central School of Art & Design (MA Print making).  He is an Elected Member of the Royal Society of Etchers and member of the Australian Print Council Commission.  He has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Australia and overseas, has been in the Dobell Prize Exhibition every year since 2004 and has won a number of awards.  Andrew also teaches Drawing on Yourself at the Art Gallery of NSW, Sturt Craft Centre and the National Art School.
